Plumbing problems are a common occurrence in residential properties. Fortunately, you can resolve many plumbing issues on your own. If you're dealing with clogs in your pipes, use the information below to attempt to troubleshoot.
If your toilet clogs, locate a plunger and use it to create suction over the drainage hole. Pump the plunger vigorously to push anything stuck in the pipes through the system.
You may be able to use a plunger on your sink and bathtub drains, too. If this doesn't work, you can purchase drain cleaning tools at most hardware stores. These inexpensive plastic tools can help you fish debris out of the drain.
If you lose electrical power in your home, you'll want to contact your utility provider to learn what is causing the issue. There may be an issue with your account, or perhaps localized outages are impacting your neighborhood.
No Hot Water?
If you don't have hot water in your property, locate your heating tank and check the settings on the side. If possible, attempt to cycle or reset the system to resolve the issue.
If you do make any changes or updates to the settings, please wait at least 20 minutes before testing the water temperature again. This will give the heater time to kick into action.
If your heating or air conditioning isn't working properly, attempt to fix the issue by checking the settings on your central thermostat. Is the system in vacation mode?
